On the original date of our Sports Banquet, Athletic Director Maura Herrholz ‘85 delivered the top three awards to our athletes, with the help of our president, Sister Carmen T. Fernandez ‘85, Sister Marie and their respective coaches. Congratulations to seniors Mia Atrio (Athlete of the Year), Indira Rambarran (Sportsmanship Award) and Alana Batista (Scholar Athlete of the Year).

Bobcats Go the Extra Mile for COVID Relief

Our Lady of Lourdes Academy hosted its first #Bobcats4Bocats Virtual Race, April 29 - May 6 - a virtual 5K Run/Walk/Bike Ride with a unique twist, where participants completed an additional mile, totaling 4.1 miles, in support of our Bobcats.  With more than 900 registered participants, the virtual event raised over $22K for the school’s COVID-19 Relief Fund, aimed at providing assistance to those students experiencing financial hardships as a result of the Coronavirus pandemic.

On May 1, our president, Sister Carmen T. Fernandez ‘85, accompanied by our Vice Principal, Sister Maryanne Lynch, and Assistant Principal for Academics, Ms. Gloria Ramos ‘83, surprised the Valedictorian and Salutatorian of the Class of 2020, with a congratulatory visit, to announce their special, hard-earned distinctions.  Congratulations to Alana Batista and Alyssa Jimenez, the Valedictorian and Salutatorian, respectively, of the Class of 2020.

On March 10, the school community at Our Lady of Lourdes Academy celebrated the 100th Anniversary of Women’s Suffrage, with a panel discussion featuring esteemed guests, who have received local, national and global acclaim in their respective industries: Former Rep. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, Dr. Aileen M. Marty ‘75, Maria Alonso ‘81, Maggie Rodriguez ‘87, and Suki Lopez ‘08. Soccer Team Wins Second State Title in Three Years

On Feb. 28, the Varsity Soccer Team won the 6A Soccer State Championship, defeating Venice, 2-1. It is the school’s second soccer state title in three years. The team was cheered on by more than 500 fans, including six fan buses from school, who traveled to DeLand, to “white out” the stadium.
