Environmental Science Teacher

This teacher will be expected to plan, organize and implement an appropriate instructional program for High School Environmental Science instruction. Qualifications:

  • Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science or related field. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Florida Department of Education (FDOE) Professional Educator Certificate in Environmental Science or related field, Grades 9-12.
  • Exhibit intellectual curiosity and a passion for fostering confident lifelong learners.
  • Demonstrated interest and experience in creating a student-centered learning environment.
  • Knowledge and skill in use of instructional technologies, including iPads, in the classroom.
  • Candidate should be familiar with Google Classroom, online gradebooks and Smart Board; he/she should have a willingness to work with such technology.
  • Interest and experience in interacting with students outside of the classroom in co-curricular activities
  • Excellent oral and written English language communication skills, including a clear speaking voice.
  • Excellent presentation skills.
  • Must have a professional demeanor.

Special Events Coordinator

The Special Events Coordinator is responsible for executing all fundraising and institutional events related to the Advancement Office and Office of the President. These events are designed to strategically engage the donors, alumnae, current and past families, and key stakeholders of Our Lady of Lourdes Academy and garner financial support in furtherance of the mission of OLLA. The candidate reports to the Executive Director of Advancement and performs all duties and responsibilities in alignment with the mission, vision and tenets of the Catholic Archdiocese of Miami. Founded in 1963, Our Lady of Lourdes Academy is a certified STEM school that seeks “to educate young women to face the future strengthened by their faith, prepared and confident in their abilities to achieve their goals and committed to their Catholic and American heritages.”

Responsibilities include:

  • Execute all fundraising and institutional events related to the Advancement Office and Office of the President including: Fundraising Events, Community and Family Engagement Events, Alumnae Events, Capital Campaign Events, Collaboration with Student Activities and other engagement events.
  • Coordinate logistics for events including venue management, catering, rentals, décor, audiovisual needs, invitations, registration, timelines, and vendor communication.
  • Manage event setup, breakdown, and on-site event execution.
  • Develop and execute fundraising events to meet revenue goals.
  • Oversee the creation of strong event committees for all special events.
  • Track information regarding event benchmarks, revenue/expenses to date, task delegation, and other logistics and provides regular progress reports to the Executive Director of Advancement.
  • Ensures that each event maintains an appropriate revenue/expense ratio.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Public Relations, or any event related field is preferred but not required.
  • 3-5 years of experience in event logistics for large-scale events or school events.
  • Knowledge of basic project management principles.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to multitask and retain accuracy in an environment of competing deadlines.
  • Skilled at needs analysis, using systematic approaches to assess and identify needs.
  • Skilled at implementing action plans.
  • Proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Google apps. Donor Management system experience preferred.
  • Good computer literacy, including the ability to navigate online applications and search engines effectively.
  • Strong English language communication skills, including good spelling and grammar and a clear speaking voice.
  • Good Spanish language communication skills preferred.
  • Supportive and respectful of the mission, teachings and tenets of the Roman Catholic Church; Knowledge and support of basic tenets of the Catholic Church.
  • Must have a professional demeanor, including adherence to dress code.
