The upcoming academic year brings new lessons to be learned and an endless amount of possibilities. At Our Lady of Lourdes Academy, we believe that learning not only takes place in the classroom, but also in the many enrichment and extracurricular activities we provide. We encourage all students to take advantage of the many clubs, performances, service activities, and athletic events Our Lady of Lourdes Academy has to offer. It is through active participation that students gain the most from their high school experience.
Our school community is dedicated to the mission of “educating young women to face the future, strengthened by their faith and prepared and confident in their abilities.” In order to achieve this goal, we strive at helping students attain success in their professional, spiritual and personal lives. Success in every realm requires a level of structure, responsibility and perseverance; and we at Our Lady of Lourdes Academy are committed to helping students acquire the skills necessary for life-long success.
The important lessons in life, however, are not limited to the school classroom and activities. If we are to provide students with a well-rounded education, we must depend on the support and cooperation of the families that make up the school community. This requires all parents and students be aware of the rules and regulations, outlined in the handbook, available on Edline. All rules and regulations have been established for the purpose of ensuring an orderly environment that enhances learning, promotes positive interpersonal relationships, and protects the rights of all members of the school community.
The challenge presented to the modern-day “Lourdes Girl” is to live up to the impressive legacy left by many generations of Lourdes’ alumnae. It is a legacy that has become highly respected in the local community. A “Lourdes Girl” is synonymous with that of a young lady who demonstrates maturity, kindness, self-discipline and determination. Therefore, it is expected all our students behave in a manner that is consistent with the mission and spirit of the school, as well as the teachings of the Catholic Church.
I look forward to supporting the student body in any manner that will help each student achieve her goals and sustain this lasting legacy. Should you need to contact me, I can be reached at firstname.lastname@example.org or at (305) 667-1623, ext. 214.
With Mary in all things,
