Based on their performance on last year’s PSAT, six seniors from Our Lady of Lourdes Academy have been recognized as National Hispanic Scholars by The College Board’s National Hispanic Recognition Program (NHRP). These students are Gabriela Jimenez, Margot Menendez, Emily Perez, Alexandra Peterson, Isabel Romeu, and Arianna Vazquez.
The NHRP was initiated by The College Board, in 1983, to help identify outstanding Hispanic/Latino students. Each year, the NHRP honors 5,000 of the highest scoring students from the United States, Puerto Rico, Guam, the U.S. Virgin Islands, the Mariana Islands, and the Marshall Islands. In order for a student to be eligible, he/she must take the PSAT in high school during his/her junior year, attain the PSAT cutoff score or higher, have a minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher by the end of junior year, and be at least one-quarter Hispanic.
