The Cross Country Team impressively placed 4th in Class 4A at the FHSAA Cross Country State Championships on Nov.5, earning the highest placing amongst all Dade County schools. The team was led by senior Sabrina Quijano (19:19), followed by freshman Becky Bergnes (19:26), junior Jeannie Estevez (20:02), freshman Alana Batista (20:12), senior Calyope Ortega (20:14), sophomore Isa Areces (20:22), and sophomore Gabriela Garcia-Linares (21:27). Congrats to these Bobcats for all running either season or personal bests!
Congratulations to the cross country team who were crowned the regional runner-up on Thursday, October 27, 2016 at Larry & Penny Park. The Bobcats have advanced to the state meet at Apalachee Regional Park in Tallahassee, FL on November 5, 2016. Way to go Bobcats!

Congratulations to our golf team who finished their season as district runner-up on October 10, 2016 at the Miami Springs Country Club.
Congratulations to sophomore Daniela Spillert, who was the individual champion at the Golf Regional tournament, shooting the lowest score (71). She qualified for the State Meet at the Mission Inn & Resort in Howey in the Hills, Florida, where she placed 13th out of 95 golfers. At the end of the 2015-2016 school year, Daniela was named Female Golf Player of the Year by the Miami Herald.

On May 26, the Athletic Program at Lourdes Academy was named the Best Female Athletic Program in Miami-Dade County by the Miami Herald. Congratulations to our Athletic Director Ms. Herrholz, Athletic Trainer Ms. Rodriguez, our talented and dedicated coaching staff, and our student athletes who make us so very proud. This is the eleventh time our school has received this distinction – the most by any school in the county.
Congratulations to our Varsity Soccer Coach Ramiro Vengoechea, who was named Girls’ Soccer Coach of the year, for the third consecutive year, by the Miami Herald.
Congratulations to senior Victoria Maseda, who was named the Miami Herald’s Female Scholar Athlete of the Year, on May 26. Maseda is a three-year letterman on the Soccer Team, which contended for the state championship this year. She will attend Harvard University, this fall, where she will major in engineering.
Congratulations to freshman Daniela Spillert, who was named the Miami Herald’s Girls’ Golfer of the Year, on May 26. During the season, Spillert was named Player of the Week by the Miami Herald two times. She won first place at the Maverick Invitational, with a score of 68, as well as first place at the Dade County Youth Fair Invitational, with a score of 75. She shot the second lowest score at Regionals, with a score of 76. She shot the lowest 9-hole score at the Miami Shores Country GCC, with a score of 36, and she shot the lowest score in 18-holes at Jacaranda GCC, with a score of 68.

Congratulations to senior Brittany Bilotti, who was named to the Miami Herald 1st Team All County in Volleyball and freshman Daniela Spillert, who was named 1st Team All County in Golf.
Congratulations to the Basketball Team who defeated Ferguson, on Jan. 29, to win the District Championship. The Bobcats overcame an 18-point deficit to put the game into overtime, where they prevailed 55-52. The Bobcats will play, at home, in the Regional Quarterfinals on Thursday, Feb. 4, against Varela; game starts at 7:00 p.m.
Congratulations to the Soccer Team who defeated Cypress Bay, on Jan. 29, in the Regional Finals, and now advances to the State Tournament, on Feb. 5, in Melbourne. Natalie Silberman scored a goal with 8 minutes left in the game, to tie it at 1-1. After a scoreless double overtime, the game went into penalty kicks; Niki Molina, Emma Bryan, Natalie Silberman and Olivia Candela all made their penalty kicks, and goalie Amanda Puig was phenomenal as she blocked two of Cypress Bay’s penalty kicks to secure the victory for the Bobcats. Lourdes will play Newsome on Feb. 5, at 6:30 p.m., at Melbourne High School.
Chris McKeon, Head Coach of the Our Lady of Lourdes Academy Basketball Team, will be recognized by The Hopes & Dreamers Foundation, on Nov. 20, for his many years of committed service.
